It’s quite disturbing to know that some streamers are willing to do anything to attract more views. Shockingly, even abuse can be seen as a form of entertainment by some. Scripted or not, these kinds of content can be very traumatising to viewers. It’s even worse if a guest on these live broadcasts revealed that they were actually assaulted on camera.
Yesterday (Tuesday, 14th March), Detective Caracula posted a censored version of a livestream footage on his YouTube channel where South Korean streamer Yoon Eun Bae was seen physically, verbally, and sexually abusing a female guest onscreen while she was barely conscious. The horrifying video has since reached half a million views at the time of writing.
The livestream clip was posted days after the victim came forward with her testimony where she revealed that she was assaulted and exploited by popular male streamers. The victim, known as BJ (Broadcast Jockey) Adung, shared in a previously posted video on the YouTube channel that she was blackmailed by these streamers, starting with one named Nam Sang Gyu.
According to her testimony, Sang Gyu tricked the victim into becoming an adult streamer by convincing the single mother to sign a contract that would earn her some extra cash by appearing as a guest on his livestream. Things took a turn for the worst as Adung (real name Ms. Roh) was left barely conscious after the content creator spiked her drink and humiliated her on camera.
The abuser reportedly blackmailed the victim by threatening to leak the recorded livestream on porn sites if she were to file a police report. This incident then led her to be taken advantage of on the aforementioned Yoon Eun Bae’s stream. She was also coerced into signing another contract with an entertainment company called KN ENM where she was further subjected to psychological stress.
Adung or Ms. Roh managed to escape the company’s facility and filed a civil and criminal complaint against the establishment. After the story broke out, Sang Gyu released a statement on Instagram and accused the single mother of lying. However, netizens sided with the victim after Detective Caracula posted the assault video on his channel as evidence.
The private detective posted another video earlier today (Wednesday, 15th March) to provide more evidence of the male streamers’ crimes stating that the victim was indeed tricked into signing an unfair deal that led to her abuse.
