When it comes to the AV industry, there are always a few names that pop up. One of them is Japanese AV (adult video) actress Yua Mikami (三上悠亜). At a glance, it’s easy to see why. Mikami has garnered plenty of fans and followers thanks to her petite looks and large bust.
However, just yesterday (13th March), Mikami shared some bittersweet news with her fans. After several years of dedicating herself to the AV industry, Mikami felt it was time to move on. That’s right, the popular AV actress is officially retiring!
Mikami released a video announcing her retirement on YouTube yesterday. “Today, I have a big announcement for you,” the 30-year-old stated. “I, Mikami Yua, am retiring from being an AV actress.” Mikami added that she felt like the time was finally right to do so.
The AV actress shared that she had always planned on retiring when she turned 30. Still, she has not regretted the eight years she spent in the AV industry. Mikami teared up as she shared that although it had been difficult at times, working as an AV actress had made her happy. It certainly helped that she had constant support from her fans.
However, Mikami also acknowledged that AV wasn’t something one could do forever. Still, she has prepared several works for her retirement. In fact, these will be released up until August, which is Mikami’s birthday month. In the meantime, Mikami hopes to continue finding work, presumably unconnected to the AV industry.
Fans have left comments on Mikami’s video, thanking her for her hard work these past eight years. Several have also asked Mikami to continue to reach out to fans on her socials. However, ultimately, many are wishing Mikami all the best in her future endeavours.
From being a member of idol group SKE48 to switching to the AV industry, Mikami has certainly had a very fulfilling and colourful career. Like her fans, we too wish Mikami well on her next journey in life!
