Have you ever come across the “Dark Side” community on Twitter? For those who don’t know, the “Dark Side”, or DS in short, refers to a community within Twitter where you can freely express your dark alter-ego and make dark confessions. Some even use the platform to do hook-ups or to post pornographic materials.
Recently, a DS account owner in Malaysia came under fire after she went public about her debt crisis that she’s encountering with her partner online. As seen in the photo shared by the user, known as @kaytieyou, she and her boyfriend have a credit card debt of almost RM3,000!
“Hi fellow DS users, I sincerely would like to ask for financial help to pay off me and my BF’s debt with the bank. We’re experiencing some problems with our business, so we’ve been using our credit card for our daily expenses for a few months. We really appreciate those who are willing to help us. Thank you,” the Twitter user wrote.
However, @kaytieyou’s cry for help was met with huge backlash from netizens on Twitter. Most of them took to the comments section to criticise the DS account owner’s action of begging people for money. “You and your boyfriend are the ones who owed money to the bank, but you’re asking other people to pay off the debt. That’s so stupid,” one commenter replied. Another social media user said, “F**k you! You’re still broke despite being a whore.”
In addition, there were also others who suggested @kaytieyou to ditch her BF, perhaps find a sugar daddy or get a job.
