Most of us may claim we appreciate honesty over being lied to. But, that doesn’t mean blunt opinions don’t hurt. Hence the saying, “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Unfortunately, Hong Kong radio DJ Pitar Leung (梁文礼) had plenty to say about Hong Kong artist’s Gigi Leung (梁咏琪) concert!
Gigi recently held a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, with plenty of fans, friends, and fellow artists attending. This of course included radio DJ Pitar. And while he later praised Gigi publicly on his Instagram, it was discovered he had been fairly critical of her on his private Facebook!
On 19th February, Gigi performed her last show at the Hong Kong Coliseum, much to her fans’ delight. The 46-year-old singer made an eye-catching figure, dressed in a puffy gown of red and white. Like many others, Pitar later took to his socials to comment on Gigi’s concert.
Pitar allegedly uploaded a photo of Gigi in her gown and commented, “So pretty” on his Instagram Story. But, he apparently had a very different opinion of the whole show on his private Facebook. “Poor flow, poor song arrangement, poor dancing,” the radio DJ commented. “Of course, she sings badly (too).”
The radio DJ claimed the performance had not been up to his standards. “You can’t even (do) “Love Yourself (愛自己)!” I’ve been (restless) all night, fidgeting,” he wrote. Pitar added the only thing worth praising Gigi for was her looks. “Her short hair is really beautiful and (it) suits her. Her figure is good and the ugly (costume) was well carried. It’s like wearing ‘a tissue (used) to wipe a nosebleed’,” he then criticised.
When asked about his remarks, Gigi had this to say. “I tried my best this time but it might not have met everyone’s expectations. But, it doesn’t matter. I will continue to (perform). There is still time to improve, so I hope everyone will give me time to do so and continue to do (it) well!” Gigi reportedly told Hong Kong media.
Pitar himself has been keeping mum about the entire incident. We’re not entirely sure if he was expecting Gigi to learn about his criticisms. But, kudos to the singer for taking it well! We sincerely hope she won’t take it to heart.
