The quilted bags were recently restocked at a COS outlet in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the news sent local K-pop fans into a frenzy. A video online went viral showing the outlet being flooded with a long line of customers who were eager to grab their hands on the bag. According to TikToker @fishmeatdie, each customer was limited to purchasing only two bags as stocks were limited.
In case you don’t know, the quilted bags from the European fashion brand have been around for at least two years. It is available in three sizes – mini, small and oversized. However, the bag only became popular early last year, all thanks to Jennie. As soon as fans saw Jennie holding the bag, the item was immediately sold out everywhere.
The clip has since gained 180k views on TikTok. Many netizens were completely bewildered by the public’s excitement over the COS bag. Some of the comments left by them include, “I really don’t know why everyone super crazy about this bag 😳,” “(Imagine) people everywhere in KL using the same bag 😂,” “When you can’t afford a Bottega (Veneta) Puffer Cassette 😂” and “Is the bag made from gold?”
