How long has it been since K-pop girl group MAMAMOO last came to Malaysia? Long enough cause fans were all willing to wait in the rain for the gates to open and witness their idol group perform live in concert! The band’s show was held at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam last night (Saturday, 12th February) and it was nothing short of amazing!
Blown away is an understatement as words simply cannot describe the power and energy the singers brought on stage. The vocalists performed many of their hits such as “Dingga”, “AYA” and “Egoistic” as well as their iconic solo songs which they’ve performed as a group. Other than serving outstanding live vocals and visuals, the idols also served something special for their fellow member, Solar (김용선).

After a very energetic first half of the concert, MAMAMOO slowed things down with some ballads such as “Paint Me”, “I Love Too” and “Star Wind Flower Sun”. The girl group along with fans were then presented with a video projection of Malaysian MOOMOOs showing their appreciation for the girls but the heartwarming moment didn’t end there.
Before carrying on with their next set, Solar received an early surprise birthday cake that was brought onto the stage by the stage crew while the members and MOOMOOs sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Judging by the reaction in the video above, the 31-year-old was definitely surprised and thanked everyone for the kind gesture and gift.
For your information, the main vocalist will be turning 32 on 21st February and what better way to celebrate than with her members and MOOMOOs? It also wouldn’t be a proper birthday surprise without a group photo of everyone in the indoor stadium. After enjoying the nice surprise, the girl band proceeded to entertain their fans with more hits like “gogobebe”, “HIP” and “Starry Night”.

Needless to say, fans would love for the concert to go on and on. MAMAMOO left the audience wanting more and more, and boy, did they deliver as the K-pop idols performed not 1 but 4 songs for their encore performance! Now that’s how you end a show!
In all honesty, we’d do anything to relive this concert experience. From production to choreography to setlist to, of course, the vocals, last night was simply amazing.
