For some strange reason, people always demand good customer service but refuse to be good customers themselves. This can often result in frustrating interactions. The worst is probably when the customers end up throwing a tantrum when they don’t get their way.
Well, a coffee shop supervisor recently had to face a challenging customer. After not getting his way, this particular customer decided to shout and curse the poor lady out! And the reason for his ire was something many agreed wasn’t very important. Apparently, he had been extremely upset over the size of his cup.

The video of the incident went viral on Twitter after making its rounds on TikTok. Apparently, a customer had ordered a hot Americano. However, upon receiving his drink, he found fault in the cup’s size. The customer alleged it was overly small. He also claimed he had received a drink in a bigger cup from their store before.
After refusing their apologies, the customer demanded to meet their manager. The TikToker then made it clear that she was the store’s supervisor which turned the customer’s ire on her. She attempted to explain that they were only following the store’s SOPs. But the customer wouldn’t have it. “Your SOPs are bullshit!” he spat. “Don’t show me your SOPs! Before this we could (get a bigger cup), now we can’t! Is this double standards!?”
While the customer continuously demanded to see their manager, a woman, assumed to be the man’s wife could be heard asking about the cups’ sizes. But, midway through the supervisor’s explanation, the man exploded. “Big cup or small cup; just call your boss here!” he shouted. Over the supervisor’s apologies, the man continued scolding her. “Who do you think you are? Do you think I’m stupid? You idiot!” he yelled before leaving.

The supervisor wasn’t the only one left frustrated with the interaction. Many netizens were quick to share that they would have lost their temper from the onset. “That’s why I don’t agree with (the saying) “the customer is always right”,” one opined. Others sympathised greatly with the supervisor, with a few even praising her for handling him politely.
The supervisor later explained that she had only uploaded the video to bring awareness to what baristas often faced. She also maintained that their store cup sizes were standard and that she believed her baristas had not made a mistake. The supervisor then added that she had already spoken about the incident to her manager.

Well, customer service is never an easy task! We do know that they deal with a lot of things, but hearing it for ourselves is always a different story. Hopefully this video will remind people to be kinder when interacting with baristas and others in the service industry!
