Sex scenes are fairly common in movies. Some leave people feeling hot and bothered, others look like a fight is taking place in the bedroom. For most people, sex scenes are supposedly fun to watch and even more exciting to film. But, for Hong Kong actor Kent Cheng (郑则仕), his most memorable sex scene was not fun to film at all.
One of Kent’s acclaimed films, which he was nominated as Best Supporting Actor for, “To Be Number One (跛豪)” included a sex scene which impressed many. In fact, the 71-year-old actor was recently asked to do another sex scene in another film! However, Kent later shared that filming said scene had not been as enjoyable as some would think.
The 1991 film had garnered much attention at the time when it came out. Kent himself had gone viral for his performance in “To Be Number One” when he insulted and stepped on his co-actress’ chest! And now, Kent was revealed to have performed another sexy scene in a spinoff film “追龙番外篇之龙争虎斗” of “Chasing the Dragon (追龍)”.
Thankfully, Kent did not have to step on anyone this time. As his character was being seduced by a woman to frame him, the duo had a bed scene and a kissing scene. But, Kent later told Hong Kong 01 (香港01) that he had not enjoyed acting this scene out. “First of all, you are under pressure (to perform). You cannot make mistakes, and you have to shoot if correctly. You also can’t film (it) too many times, it’s best to do it in one take,” Kent stated.
He added that this was to catch the feeling of the scene based on the character’s mentality. Kent also claimed that there were almost no bloopers (NG) for the shoot. “Because you know what you are doing, you need to be (clear) about it,” he said, adding that he needed to be extra careful as his co-star was a female.
Kudos to Kent for his professionalism! It can certainly be hard to perform under pressure but he pulled it off anyway. Well, we certainly hope his latest scene will once again win the hearts of many.
