Most of the time, food delivery riders will go out of their wat to make sure customers are satisfied, even the inconsiderate ones. Sometimes, riders will even get off their vehicles to help those in need. While most riders are kind and respectful, some might take advantage of their customers.
You can never be too careful when dealing with strangers who deliver items to your house. Some would choose to wait until the rider leaves before collecting the food left by the rider. Others would install security cameras in case they need video evidence of rogue riders. But what would you do if a food delivery rider sexually harassed you on the streets?

A video posted by @dane327 on Twitter is currently going viral with now over 300k views for the video and 1 million views for the tweet itself, at the time of writing. The video showed a ShopeeFood rider on a cigarette break admitting to sexually harassing a woman. The original post is by YiPin Cheah on Facebook who claimed that the victim was his girlfriend.
According to the Facebook post, the elderly rider said, “I bet sex would be really good if she was a Thai woman,” as the victim walked past. When she confronted him, the rider allegedly lashed out and hurled abuse at her which apparently cause her to experience a panic attack. Without any sense of remorse, the rider challenged the couple to call the police. Unfortunately, a case cannot be made.
The Facebook user questioned Shopee Malaysia for hiring someone like the rider in the video, “Is this the kind of people you happily employ? Bullies and thugs? Sexual harassers?” he wrote. Netizens reacted to the video on both the Twitter and original Facebook posts with many expressing their frustration over the situation.
At the time of writing, YiPin Cheah has yet to elaborate on why a case cannot be made against the rider after calling the police. There is currently no official statement by Shopee Malaysia regarding the employee after the video went viral.
