Theme parks are among the best places to create lasting memories with friends and family. With games, rides and other dazzling attractions, most are one-stop entertainment meccas where you can spend an entire day at! Who would want to pass up a chance to experience entertainment as BOSS as that?
Luckily for us, we don’t have to travel far to experience the thrills of a world-class theme park. Malaysia is dotted with top-of-the-line amusement parks you can explore and go crazy at. And now, have a new addition to the illustrious group – and it’s totally, totally EXTRA!
Introducing a new, all-ages-inclusive approach to educational fun – the NEXTGEN Theme Park at 1 Utama. Recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia’s largest indoor edutainment theme park, NEXTGEN is a one-stop venue for fun learning activities that transcend generations, from toddlers and teens to adults and the elderly.
Driven by a goal to provide children with learning environments outside of the classroom that can also engage entire families together, NEXTGEN features five experiential zones that cater to different age groups and levels of growth: Entertainment, Enrichment, Experience, Engagement, and Empowerment.
What’s great about this theme park? Well, it spans over 45,000 sq. ft, which over 100,000 visitors from all age groups poured into within the first two months of its opening!
The cavernous space is home to a variety of enriching, family-friendly attractions and mini-games, including infant play areas, obstacle courses, a sky-themed playground with rainbow slides, e-gaming zones, and even a karaoke centre!

Lilian Chan, co-founder of NEXTGEN Theme Park, genuinely believes that happy families start with parents being involved in their children’s growth and development. Since time spent together at a young age is so important, NEXTGEN wanted to create a space that can help the next generation learn through fun, while also bonding with their loved ones. NEXTGEN is a happy memory factory, where family members have a place to relax, learn, and most importantly, have a fun time together.
Aiming to establish themselves as a social and lifestyle hub, NEXTGEN’s facilities also include spaces for visitors to hone their dancing and singing skills, with social interaction areas interspersed between their many enrichment classes. Through this arrangement, the theme park effectively caters to three domains of learning: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.

Leroy Lee, fellow co-founder of NEXTGEN, said that entertainment and technology have changed every aspect of society, and they hope to apply that to take the education industry to the next level as well.
NEXTGEN is only the first of many centres that aims to help kids develop a myriad of skills while having fun. As the name implies, they want to help build the next generation – one that is ultimately thriving, happy, and positive.
NEXTGEN is set to expand further in the Klang Valley and the southern region of Malaysia in the second quarter of the year, with two new outlets in Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru and KSL Mall, Klang.
