When will people stop criticising each other for how they dress? While there are certain dress codes we need to follow for certain occasions, people should not be judged or criticised simply by how they dress.
Female celebrities are often the targets of this kind of backlash regardless if they wear something sexy or even modest. There are those who don’t approve of you wearing appropriate clothing for a certain activity such as cycling. Hawa Rizwana is currently under fire for doing just that after she posted a promo video.

Malaysian news anchor Hawa Rizwana, known for presenting news on TV9, TV3, and Astro Ria, recently posted a sponsored advertisement video for Sunsilk’s Anti-Dandruff shampoo on her TikTok channel where she was also seen cycling outdoors in full cycling gear while talking about the product.
At first glance, there seems to be nothing wrong with the promotional video as it’s just the public figure talking about how the Sunsilk shampoo is good for hijabis as well. However, netizens were not happy with the way the 27-year-old was dressed in the video. Apparently, many took to the comments section to criticise the news anchor, calling her a hypocrite for wearing a body-fitting outfit.
Netizens called out the “Wanita Hari Ini” host for dressing inappropriately in the video saying that clothes that show off the shape of a woman’s body are prohibited in Islam. There were also a few who defended Hawa saying that netizens are wasting their time as she may never see their comments. Others just find the video humorous cause the news anchor is seen casually carrying around shampoo in her cycling bag.
At the time of writing, Hawa has not yet responded to the overwhelming backlash from netizens. Instead, the celebrity host is too busy being involved with the 10Q MeleTOP concert where she will soon replace Neelofa as the host for the talk show.
What do you think of her outfit? Was it too inappropriate or did you not even notice the issue?
