Sometimes you just have to drown the white noise out, especially if you’re in the entertainment industry. Celebrities are often pressured to please people at all times, otherwise, they’d get a bad reputation. Of course, it’s impossible to make everyone happy, which is why some don’t even bother.
People will still find fault in celebrities as they’re easy targets. Baby Shima is one of the celebs that people love to find fault with. She could be doing something wholly controversial or something as simple as deleting comments on her IG. This time, she’s being criticised for dressing modestly?
Malaysian singer Baby Shima, real name Nor Ashima, often gets criticised for her suggestive dancing when making content. Recently, the singer released her music video for “Bang Jamal” which has now reached 1.2 million views on YouTube. The music video is set in a kampung where the 30-year-old is seen wearing the traditional baju kurung most of the time.
You’d think those who criticised her sexy outfits would be glad to see her in more modest clothing. Unfortunately, some commented on the video, accusing the controversial celeb of “using religion for personal gains” by wearing the traditional Malay costume. The former “Big Stage” contestant fired back at those netizens by posting a screenshot on her IG.
Baby Shima called one netizen out, saying, “Apparently, I’m not allowed to wear baju kurung 😅 people couldn’t accept the fact that I dressed modestly in the MV, accusing me of ‘using religion for personal gain’. Some even DM-ed me to delete the video or else they’ll report it 😅”. Fans showed support for the singer with some commenting that the traditional outfit has nothing to do with religion.
Guess there’s simply nothing she can do to stop people from finding fault with her. Either way, it wouldn’t stop her from doing whatever she wants. In other news, Baby Shima was involved in another controversy where she apparently locked lips with fellow actor Azrel Ismail for a scene in a movie.
