ZUS Coffee is back again, bringing yet another controversy to the Malaysian community. Unfortunately for them, this is not the first time ZUS Coffee has been in hot water for being “unprofessional”. Previous cases include customers discovering mold in their cakes and discriminating against OKUs – it seems like ZUS Coffee has a knack for being in negative light.
This time around, a man by the name of Fdaus Ahmad, expressed his disappointment with ZUS Coffee on Facebook when they short-changed him of 5 Sen. After buying a RM11.75 coffee, the staff on-hand were unable to give him his exact change, so they short-changed him. After the Facebook posting went viral, a statement from ZUS Coffee further outraged netizens.
Although the statement was a public apology, netizens are enraged as it looked as if it was written sarcastically, with the company even offering a 75 sen discount for customers. Immediately after said post, ZUS Coffee was forced to make yet another public apology, this time through the comments, apologising for their previous post saying that “it was an attempt at injecting some humour into the situation.”
Scrolling through the Facebook comments, many spoke about ZUS Coffee’s poor way of handling the situation. Many comments say that their actions were “unprofessional, immature and (done) in a sarcastic manner”. Many others also commented that the company had not only ripped off 5 sen, but countless 5 sen from Malaysians. Overall, it seems that most netizens believe there is no doubt that ZUS Coffee could have lost some (or many) customers in the heat of the moment.
What do you guys think? Did ZUS Coffee finally make their last mistake or will there be more to come? Share your thoughts down below!
