What was meant as a joke has landed Dato’ Sri Aliff Syukri in hot water after he made an insensitive remark on his Instagram recently. For starters, the local entrepreneur posted a video of himself and his wife Datin Shahida, attending the wedding of the son of Dnars founder, the late Faziana Rohban.
Through a video post on his IG, the D’Herbs owner expressed that he enjoys watching other people get married. However, it appears that many netizens felt offended after he jokingly brought up his intention of wanting to tie the knot once again.
“Should I get married again? What do you think will happen? 😂😂😂 It feels like time goes by so fast. I am friends with his mother, the late Faziani Rohban. Her son got married today. Congratulations Iqbar!” Aliff captioned his post. However, it appears that Aliff’s statement about wanting to “get married again” had rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
The replies section has since been flooded with plenty of reactions from netizens. “Your wife is perfect enough. She accepts you as you are. She has been with you through thick and thin. If you’re planning to add another wife, your ‘rezeki’ (blessings) will get taken away,” one netizen said. Another commenter also said, “There’s no need to marry another one, Dato’. Your current wife is already perfect. She’s not only beautiful, but she has a kind heart too.”
Rest assured, Aliff was only joking about wanting to get a second wife!
