We should be more appreciative towards our food delivery riders cause doing this job is certainly not easy. Who knows what would happen on the road? Some riders are willing to go the extra mile to make sure our order is delivered to us like this young rider who braved through a literal storm late at night for this hungry customer.

Others are willing to put themselves in danger and save a victim from snatch thieves and even help tie them up with their amazing knot-tying skills. When the riders deliver our order, the least we can do is thank them for their service but this rider was not happy when this woman complained about having to collect her order:

Foodpanda rider Lukmanulhakim Mustaffa or Akim posted a video on TikTok a few days ago in response to another (unnamed) user who complained about food delivery riders not being able to send her order up to her apartment which she then threatened to cancel the order. The video then cut to Akim sarcastically laughing while the camera zooms out to reveal that the rider is an amputee with a prosthetic leg.

The caption in the video reads out, “Yes miss, let me just climb 17 floors up the stairs,” possibly to indicate that the building does not have lifts or that they are unavailable. The TikTok video went viral with over 319.5k views, 13.4k likes and over 1.1k comments. Netizens showed their support for the Foodpanda rider in the comments section with many saying that they’d usually be standing by outside waiting for the riders to arrive.

After the video went viral, Akim shared his story as a disabled Foodpanda rider. Speaking to mStar, the 29-year-old said that every rider has their own challenges and that his is being an amputee. “It’s challenging for me because I can’t wear my prosthetic leg for more than 4 hours. Otherwise, my stump will be bruised or injured,” he shared.

The rider also mentioned that he’d always inform the customers of his disabilities in hopes that they’d be considerate enough to collect their order themselves. He stated that, “Some don’t understand so when that happens, I’d have to pull through for the sake of the customer’s satisfaction.”

Despite the challenges he faces on a daily basis, Akim is still determined to not let his disabilities stop him from making an honest living. He hopes his story would create more awareness and that customers would be more considerate towards food delivery riders out there.
