Ever since Chinese artist Li Yifeng (李易峰)’s sex scandal, several other names have been implicated in the mess. Unfortunately, that included much beloved artist, Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨). In a rather convoluted relationship mess involving several he-said, she-said allegations, some thought Jackson would meet his downfall.
However, after a period of silence, the artist finally decided to make a comment on the matter. Jackson not only made it clear that the rumours were unfounded, he also dryly added that he was far too busy to be involved!
Jackson has been busy with his latest album “Magic Man” which was released on 9th September. However, thanks to the recent hullabaloo with Yifeng, some fans were concerned Jackson’s reputation would take a heavy hit. Initially, Jackson kept mum about the whole issue. However, that changed yesterday (14th September).
The esteemed singer uploaded a post on Twitter yesterday. Jackson kept his words vague, however, many were quick to assume he was talking about the issue. “Maybe one day people might know. I do it for the artistry, I do it for my people, I do it for history,” Jackson stated. “I don’t have time to do anything else.”
Jackson also added that with focus, he blocked out everything that wasn’t important. “(People) see what they want to see,” he reminded. “That’s entertainment. Remember. It’s all good.” To drive the point home, Jackson added “entertainment” in Mandarin and a gif saying “Ok, alright” at the end of his thread.
Fans were quick and happy to support Jackson’s words. Several took the opportunity to thank him for his work while others encouraged him to stay strong. With that amount of support, it certainly seems like Jackson’s reputation will be just fine.
In the meantime, Jackson will be busy touring and meeting fans around the world. We sincerely hope he stays healthy and well while meeting all his fans!
