There’s been a lot of court cases that’s been settled this year. One of these cases involving a former Malaysian politician go all the way back to 2015 where the verdict was announced quite recently. Another long court case that’s currently trending involves a Malaysian influencer couple.
Cik Epal and her husband Jofliam are two social media personalities and entrepreneurs and judging from their Instagram, you can already tell they’re quite well off. One post in 2019 got netizens fueled up and this ended up in a 4-year long court battle. The couple recently shared the news with their followers that the case has reached its end.
Before we go into case update, let’s bring you up to speed. Cik Epal and Jofliam are known to be very wealthy as the couple regularly post their travels and purchases on their Instagram. Cik Epal once posted a video of her husband purchasing a RM3k baby stroller while they were out as he was “too lazy” to go back home to pick up the one they already had.
The two entrepreneurs decided to fight back and sue several individuals for defamation after being harshly criticised and condemned for their action despite them already explaining the full situation. Recently, the couple posted on their social media that they had won their court battle. Their lawyer also replied to a netizen on Twitter who asked for an update saying, “The case [has] finally concluded today. We [won]”.
The mother-of-two took to both her Instagram and Twitter updating her followers that the two have won the defamation case and apologised for the trouble they’ve caused to those who have defended them. She also announced that there’ll be an IG Live where the two will share more details on the case. Jofliam posted a series of IG stories detailing back to 2019 where people ridiculed the couple for their plans to sue these individuals.

Fans on Twitter congratulated the couple for winning their defamation case while others warned and reminded everyone to reconsider cyberbullying any famous people as they might be next to end up in a long court battle.
