It’s crucial for everyone to start learning the importance of saving money from a young age. Saving a certain amount every week or month can definitely help you in the long run. The money you’ve been saving might be used for something in the future like medical emergencies, necessities, investments or simply just for leisure.

It’s almost important to know where to store your money. Most people would keep their money in a savings account at their preferred banks and some would keep their savings in their house. While there’s nothing wrong with keeping your money at home, you’ll have to be aware of the risks cause once it’s gone, it’s gone. This individual had to learn that the hard way.

TikTok user @rasyada91 or Umi Amrina posted a video two days ago (Wednesday (17th August) showing what happened to all the cash she’s been saving. The video managed to go viral with over 600k views, 18.3k likes and almost 900 comments. Apparently, the TikToker has been saving some cash and keeping them at home for a long time but unfortunately the cash was damaged by termites.

In the 9-second video captioned “What should I do? 😭”, we can see the user holding up all her saved up cash in her hand to show the damage done by the termites. While Umi did not disclose the amount, we can tell that it’s a lot judging by how many RM50 and RM100 bills she’s got in her hand. According to the mother-of-two, she’s been keeping the cash in a wallet but has not opened it in a long time.

Netizens reacted to the video with many advising her on what she should do to save her cash next time in the future as well as giving suggestions on what can be done with the damaged money she has now.

So far there’s been no update from Umi on whether or not she has managed to restore her damaged money but after posting the video, we can all learn from her to be more careful where we keep our money.
