A woman who goes by the username @eikinhapinah on TikTok shared a video recently telling a story about her Chinese neighbour who lives opposite her house. “It [took] an effort to do this though and I do appreciate this,” she captioned the video and it has since gone viral with over 2 million views, 175.4k likes and 1.5k comments.
According to the Eikin, her neighbour, the Ah Kit family, apparently threw a birthday party for their child but she and her family were not invited as the food they were serving were non-halal. However, the neighbour asked her to not buy any food and had already ordered a KFC meal for them as a way to compensate of not being able to invite them to attend the birthday party.
She ended the video showing the KFC meal she received from her neighbour with the text caption that reads, “Good neighbours are a blessing aren’t they?”. In her post caption, the working mother promised that she’ll repay their kindness by treating them to a meal that they’ve enjoyed before one day. Netizens showed some love for the viral video by sharing their stories about their kind neighbours in the comments.
