We know, we know, Covid-19 feels like it was so last year. But, it has left long-lasting after effects on our society and the world in general. People are still wearing masks, still wary of flu-like symptoms and still doing their best to avoid infection of any kind. However, we have to admit that this e-hailing driver went a bit too far.
Recently, a particular photo was sent circulating around the internet. It gained notoriety, mainly for how far this driver went to ensure he was protected from the disease. In fact, the set up is so uncomfortable for the passengers that some have recommended the driver switch to delivering food instead!
The photos reportedly went viral on social media after one passenger endured a memorable car ride with the e-hailing driver. A quick glance at the footage shows the oddity in the vehicle. The driver has apparently separated the front of the vehicle from the back with a plastic sheet.
The sheet stretches from the left to the right side of the vehicle doors, cutting off shortly after the car seats. Additionally, there are pipes sticking out of the sheets for “ventilation”. They are supposedly connected to the air-conditioner and are used to divert cold air to the passengers’ section.
Needless to say, netizens were horrified by the over-the-top measures. Some pointed out that the plastic sheet would make the inside of the vehicle hot. Also, the measly pipes certainly wouldn’t be enough to ensure the passengers are getting sufficient air circulation. With the backseat looking so uncomfortable, several advised the driver to switch to delivering food instead. At least the food won’t complain!
Well, we can understand the e-hailing driver’s fear of getting infected. However, he may want to consider things from his passengers’ side as well.
