If you have ever taken public transportation like the MRT or LRT, then you know the struggle of having to fight for a seat on the train. Remember that old man screaming at other passengers for taking “his” seat on the MRT? Let’s avoid doing what he did and patiently wait for the chance to sit down.

However, even if there are seats available, it’s common sense to prioritise pregnant women, senior citizens and disabled people. It’s also a given that we should offer seats to parents with a child. Not getting a seat is the least of our problems but how would you feel if you saw someone taking up all the space on the MRT seats?

TikTok user @naeldaily is a content creator who posts vlogs and photos of their travels and their recent videos are getting a lot of attention. The travel vlogger posted one video on TikTok (as seen above) showing the most annoying thing about travelling with babies on the MRT. Towards the end of the video, we notice a foreign woman lying down on the seats of the MRT next to her baby in the stroller.

The first video gained 19.3k views while the second gained even more with 164k views. The vlogger assumed that the woman was just tired at first but, based on the third video, he agrees with netizens that she shouldn’t be too comfortable on a public transportation and leave space for other passengers.

Reaction to the videos appear to be mixed as some netizens criticised the woman for not being considerate of others on the MRT while some were asking everyone to not assume the worst as the woman might be too exhausted or sick that she needed to lie down for a while.

In the third video, @naeldaily showed that the woman actually took up 2 seats when she laid down. The video was made as a response to those who are assuming that the woman’s action must be a norm in her culture. So far, there has been no updates from the TikToker on whether anyone confronted her at that time. What would you do if you saw someone do this?
