Wild parties are often promoted as fun, boozy and most of all, sex filled. However, as the saying goes, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Or in this case, passes away.
A Russian adult model was apparently found dead after a wild night in Phuket, Thailand. Evgenia Smirnova (37) had supposedly fallen to her death during a party from the 8th floor balcony of a hotel. Although initially believed to be accidental, police have reason to suspect foul play.

Evgenia had supposedly been staying on the 8th floor of The Emerald Hotel with three others, Natalia Kosenkova (35), Jamaal Smith (38), and Ahmad Alatoom (28). The trio claimed that during the party, Evgenia had gotten very intoxicated and climbed out to the balcony. She was found at 4.20am, lying facedown at the base of a tree and bleeding from the head. Noticeably, she was clutching strands of hair in her hand.
According to reports, Evgenia had sustained head injuries and a broken leg. An autopsy also confirmed that she had a high level of alcohol in her blood. Police who searched the scene found liquor, condoms and drugs in the room. They stated that they are considering three possibilities in regards to her death; an accident, suicide or murder.
However, model and DJ Natalia claimed Evgenia’s death was an unfortunate accident. Natalia alleged that she had only met Evgenia that night itself. “(Evgenia) called her friend, who came (to the party), too and behaved inappropriately,” she stated. Natalia continued to insist on their innocence. She also denied reports of the party involving sex and drugs.

Natalia, Jamaal and Ahmad were later arrested and charged with recklessness. A guilty sentence would result in all three facing 10 years in prison and a fine of 200,000 baht (~RM25,000) each. According to Natalia, the recent charge has “ruined” the trio’s life. “I am very sorry, very sorrowful. But I don’t want to keep anything in my memory about her. It’s too bad, but I’m thinking about my life,” Natalia reportedly said.
Police have not released any info regarding the hair found in Evgenia’s hand. However, they are still investigating the matter and are supposedly probing for signs of physical assault or a dispute.
