Everyone expects their public surroundings to be clean. However, that remains an impossibility for as along as people don’t care. After all, maintaining public cleanliness is hard, especially when not everyone is on-board. Take for instance, this recent incident involving some well-known influencers.
Last week, a post went viral for calling out a few influencers on being irresponsible about public cleanliness. The unfortunate trio, Jestinna Kuan, Elecher Lee (一粒車) and Cherry Quah, apparently dirtied Resorts World Genting’s cable car seat with their shoes. Well, the post came to Cherry’s notice and she recently apologised for her actions.

Cherry spoke about the incident on her Instagram Story. Apparently, several netizens had been asking her for her thoughts on the issue. “If you do something wrong, then apologise,” she wrote, adding her own apology at the end. “I will pay attention to (this) in the future and (I) apologise for my words, deeds and bad examples.”
The 31-year-old then elaborated on her apology in another post. Cherry stressed that she was simply an ordinary person, an ordinary mother, once she turned off the internet. “I was startled when I got a lot of comments,” she admitted. Cherry explained that although she enjoyed using social media, she didn’t think of herself as an internet celebrity.
“The older I get, the more I realise I care about the netizens who have stayed, and who often chat (with me),” Cherry said. “(They) really care about my mistakes.” She promised to reflect on her actions and apologised for the incident again. “As a mother, I should (be) a better example in life. I am learning everyday,” she wrote. “I will do better, sorry.”

Kudos to Cherry for taking responsibility for her actions. We hope her actions will speak louder than her words in the future. Aside from Cherry’s apology, both Jestinna and Elecher have yet to respond to the incident.
