The down side to the internet age is the fact that keyboard warriors feel entitled to judge people’s appearances. Regardless of age and time, some people cannot evolve beyond their closed-minded attitude that can affect others. Such is the case with Shila Amzah, who has been enduring body shaming comments for years.
Shila Amzah revealed her disappointment with a video she uploaded on TikTok. The singer – who rose to fame through the second season of the reality-competition show “One in A Million” – jabbed back at netizens with a caption in the video, “POV (point of view) you keep on getting body shaming comments but you’ve been working you’re a** off to be healthy mentally and physically.”
@shilaamzahofficial I’m done with “tak jaga badan” comments, I’m struggling mentally n physically..dealing with my divorce and hormonal imbalance. #fy #normalizenormalbodies
The video has since garnered positive comments from netizens who have been following Shila’s socials. Actress Janna Nick – who is no stranger to such attacks -has also commented in support of her on Instagram. “Go go go (flame emoji)“, she wrote.
In one of the singer’s older videos uploaded on TikTok, she can also be seen in a physical training session with her fitness trainer. The video was uploaded in reply to one of the body shaming comments she received in the past, telling her to go on a diet.
Aside from Shila Amzah, there are other celebrities who have been body shamed and are vocal about their experiences such as Dato Fazley Yaakob and Nabila Huda. Janna Nick also called out netizens on Instagram, and wrote “To those watching this video, please stop body shaming others, it’s not cool!”
