Malaysia Airports Announces New Shopping Campaign With shopMYairports’ First Birthday

Birthday celebrations of popular retail outlets are indeed a moment to look forward to with awesome discounts and fantastic competitions to win. Now, Malaysia Airports has announced a new shopping campaign in conjunction with the first birthday of shopMYairports today; Are You The Goldenaire! Well, what’s all the hype about for this campaign?

Apparently, this campaign gives shoppers a chance to win a grand prize of 200g gold bar featuring a fine silhouette of the KL International Airport (KLIA) and monthly prizes of 2.5g of gold wafers worth up to RM100,000. With the pandemic ruining our respective travel plans, we could at least reminisce the beauty of KLIA through the 200g gold bar.

This campaign would be held from September 2021 to 28th February 2022 and you could participate in it by purchasing a RM10 Goldenaire shopping voucher and redeeming it on shopMYairports e-commerce platform to be in the running to win.

Malaysia Airports, over the past year in an effort to meet the demands of a larger audience beyond the usual travellers, have provided a dynamic boost to retailers to enhance sales through a new airport shopping experience for both travellers and non-travellers. Retailers in Malaysia Airports who have been badly affected by the travel ban transpired by the pandemic could now receive support via this platform. Malaysia Airports have curated exclusive products on the platform too to gain a wider reach.

According to Hani Ezra Hussin, the senior general manager of Commercial Services, she said, ”The Are You the Goldenaire” campaign is the perfect way to celebrate shopMYairports’ first birthday. Since its launch in September 2020, shopMYairports has achieved an average additional 50% month-on-month sales growth and attracted more than two million page views. Furthermore, a series of online promotions in 2020 contributed to encouraging sales, in particular, Boxing Day, which resulted in 58 times average daily sales and 38 times average daily orders. Through the Are You The Goldenaire campaign, Malaysia Airports aims to establish shopMYairports’ position as the premium travel-retail ecommerce platform in Malaysia by increasing its user base by 16 times and sales growth by 10 times. shopMYairports is one of our key initiatives to revive the local airport retail industry. The platform has proven to help our airport retail partners adapt to a new business environment and allow them to do what they do best, providing shoppers with the finest products and services. We believe shopMYairports will continue to empower retailers and shoppers with the ultimate online airport retail experience. We are proud that the platform has grown by leaps and bounds in just one year, and we look forward to more milestones.”

shopMYairports are now available for international delivery, catering to global shoppers who might be pretty much devastated with the global travel ban. This might put a smile back on their faces as they shop all they want on this platform.

The international delivery expansion would give retailers an excellent opportunity to tap into a new market. Malaysia Airport’s long-term digitisation initiative aims to facilitate the growth of airport retailers and lay the foundation to transform the airport into shopping and lifestyle destinations.

Here are some additional information in regards to this campaign:

  • Purchase a RM10 GOLDENAIRE shopping voucher which is equivalent to one (1) entry and stand a chance to win a 200g HABIB gold bar featuring a fine silhouette of KLIA.
  • Every spending of RM50 utilising RM10 GOLDENAIRE shopping voucher, shoppers will be entitled for 10 additional entries upon checkout. 
  • Multiple RM10 GOLDENAIRE shopping vouchers equals multiple entries. 
  • RM10 GOLDENAIRE shopping vouchers can be used online (shopMYairports) up until 3 months after the campaign period. 
  • As a bonus, shoppers also stand a chance to get a monthly gold wafer (2.5g). Winners will be announced every month. In total, 48 units of gold wafers are to be won throughout the campaign period.
