Muar MP Syed Saddiq has become a trending topic on social media after reports of him facing two charges of criminal breach of trust came to light yesterday (Thursday, 22nd July).
Later that day, the former Youth and Sports Minister appeared on a live broadcast on his official Instagram and Facebook accounts, asking for the public to contribute to his crowd-funding campaign to help pay off his RM330,000 bail.
The news was met with tons of dividing remarks left by local netizens. They took to the comments section on the local press’ IG account to share their opinion on the matter. Much to the amusement of many, among those who left their replies include Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Idris Ibni Sultan Ibrahim!
In this case, the Johor Prince had called the 29-year-old out for being a “Drama Queen”. He commented, “Poor ‘rakyat’ (people) for always being the victims of political games. Acting up and deceiving people for the sake of gaining votes and power. Almost everything is not believable. May God protect the people and the country.”

In another series of statements posted on his IG Stories, TMJ also touched on his views about the leadership of politicians who often manipulate the members of the public to maintain their power. “Back then he was a Picasso, now he’s a Pinocchio,” he wrote on his post, accompanied with an image of the fictional character. The post has since been removed by him after that.
On top of that, he also urged Malaysian Kings to play their role, and speak out against the issue to protect the welfare of the rakyat as well as the stability of the country. According to TMJ, “If all parties in the administrative system only think of their personal interests, then the country will be ruined,” he expressed, before calling for the rulers to be responsible in restoring national responsibility.”
