Social media is the best place for K-pop fans to channel their thoughts and opinions on their bias. But it also has proven to be toxic at times, where some internet trolls are prone to spread malicious information.
Recently, a dispute broke out among fans on social media. This came after they discovered that some toxic individuals who claim to be BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) fans (familiarly known as BLINKs) took to social media to throw hateful remarks about the boy group BTS (방탄소년단).

Are they really proud to say these things? And then they say "it's only a few blinks who throw hate" or "blink has never made fun of other artists' bodies" or "those fandoms are exaggerated and have no proof", I'm ashamed of them. #blackpinkdisband pic.twitter.com/fpnO3mCQ4x

As reported by AllKpop, it all started when social media users gathered on Twitter Spaces to discuss about various K-pop topics. Although it sounds exciting, there will always be a minority of negative fans, who have the tendency to channel their own toxicity onto others.
One such example of the latter case was evident when a few individuals on the platform began making offensive statements against ARMYs (avid fans of BTS). Worse, these trolls also made sexual harassment comments against the boy group, in addition to several other rude comments!
As a response to that, many netizens who were disturbed by this have taken to social media and trended the hashtag #blackpinkdisband on Twitter to bring attention to a few of these self-proclaimed BLINKS. Apart from speaking up against these toxic individuals, others also expressed their hopes that fans will not put the blame on the girl group for the controversy.
