Did A Local TV Show With 50 Celeb Juries Flout SOPs During Filming?

A local singing contest known as “All Together Now Malaysia”, which has just officially broadcasted its first episode on Astro RIA and Astro Prima over the weekend, has become a hot topic of conversation among netizens online for all the wrong reasons.

In the 2-hour long show, a total of 50 jurors are responsible for judging the performances of the competing contestants. Among the local celebs who participated include Dato’ AC Mizal, Erra Fazira, Jaclyn Victor, among others.

Due to this, a lot of netizens have been taking to Twitter to vent out their frustration, as the country is under the Movement Control Order (MCO) to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only that, others also claimed that most of the juries on the programme didn’t wear face masks and failed to practice proper social distancing.

However, there were a few commentators who pointed out that the programme has been recorded before the implementation of the restricted movement order in Malaysia, to which a netizen remarked, “Did y’all know? When it comes to entertainment programmes, they allow up to 50 people. But for mosques, they only limit to 12 people.”

50 orang, kalau jemaaah masjid ni meriah.. Daripada 12 orang je yg dibenarkan.

Tapi yelah..HIBURAN LAGI PENTING DI DUNIA. pic.twitter.com/8ajA0zKzCM

In response to several allegations left by netizens, Astro has since clarified that “All Together Now Malaysia” was recorded earlier on 3rd March up ’til 11th April 2021, way before the implementation of RMCO.

In fact, during the recording, the production team has ensured those who are involved in the programme to comply with all the guidelines of the current RMCO SOPs issued by the NSC and MOH. Check out their full statement below:

For those who don’t know, the original format of the singing show was supposed to feature 100 juries. But due to the current situation happening in our country, the number was reduced to 50 people.

In addition, it’s also understood that the program has actually been postponed twice from its original release date.
