As of today (Wednesday. 20th January), schools are now officially reopening only for SPM and STPM 2020 candidates, amid the whopping number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.
However, the recent news about 18 students being tested positive for Covid-19 in Sabah has in turn sparked a major concern among students. This prompted former Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq to come up with a padlet link for them to pour out their thoughts about the government’s decision on his Twitter. He also accompanied his tweet with the hashtag “#SuaraPelajar” (voices of students).

Soon after, the hashtag “#SuaraPelajar” (voice of students) became a trending topic on Twitter not long after he posted his tweet. In this case, many of them expressed their opinions about sitting for exams in this current pandemic situation.
Most students have been fighting for their voices to be heard because they are worried and afraid of being infected when sitting for exams. After all, they are not required to undergo swab test for Covid-19. Apart from that, others also called for the government to provide a better solution to the matter.
‘We are the future pillars of this country and we shouldn’t be treated like this. 3000+ Covid-19 cases per day is dangerous. No students should risk their health / sacrifice their lives just for an examination during pandemic. We need to fight and we need to be heard!” Twitter user @JiaZhe49383286 wrote.

reading the notes left the students in YB's link srsly broke my heart alot and i also realized that even if I wasnt writing and uploading what I feel the other students already are. Tbh, what's so hard for them to listen to us? Students barely ever try to speak up this loudly.
