Online shopping scam has been around for a while, and it doesn’t help that people still fall prey to these internet con men.
One individual who had purchased the all-new PlayStation 5 on an e-commerce site, ended up with a chunk of concrete placed inside a legit PS5 box.

According to Fox 13, the 38-year-old man from Orem, Utah, bought the “console” on eBay for $878 (RM3,576) which is $379 (RM1544) more than the original price of $499 (RM2032). It’s no surprise that the man would pay almost double the price for a second-hand device, considering it’s limited stock and high demand.
However, the man received a heavy PS5 box only to find a chunk of concrete instead of a console. One could only imagine the heartbreak that the man had to endure when he realised he spent almost a thousand bucks on a brick.

On the bright side, the Orem Police Department stated that the man should be able to get his money back due to eBay’s buyer & seller protection and policy. The police went on to warn that people should be alert when purchasing items from questionable sellers who have no feedback scores or reviews.
A word of advice to all online shoppers, you should always check the sellers’ identity and their product reviews. If you have even the slightest doubt, it’s better for you to just find a more trustworthy seller.
