New Covid-19 Cases From Mid Valley, Aeon Big & Menara Bangkok Bank

With new Covid-19 cases still popping up, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) In Klang Valley has been extended for another 2 weeks.

As of 27th October, there were new cases reported from Mid Valley Megamall, Aeon Big & Menara Bangkok Bank.

1. Northpoint Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur

Machines Service Centre at Northpoint Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur has recently confirmed that one of their employees tested positive for Covid-19. Machines announced it on their Facebook page, stating that the staff’s result came in yesterday (26th October) after getting tested on last Friday.

“The employee has not been at work since clocking out on 16 October 2020. Following close contact with another Covid positive case outside of work, the employee was summoned to KKM for testing on 23 October 2020 and received her test result today,” it stated in the post.

Machines also added that they are working closely with the Health Ministry to identify close contacts for testing and quarantine. Machines Service Centre is not to be confused with the Machines outlet inside the mall that reported a positive case back on 12th October.

2. Aeon Big in Kota Kinabalu

Two employees based at Aeon Big Bukit Rimau Shopping Centre and Inanam Taipan in Kota Kinabalu are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. The management of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad confirmed the cases yesterday (27th October) on their Facebook Page.

“These cases were detected after the company conducted swab test across all our frontline employees in our effort to be vigilant in handling the spread of Covid-19 in our community,” the announcement stated. The management also added that other employees who had close contact with the infected individuals have been instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days.

3. Menara Bangkok Bank, Jalan Ampang

According to MalaysiaKini, a number of employees that worked at Menara Bangkok Bank at Jalan Ampang has tested positive for the coronavirus. The bank released a statement indicating that deep cleansing and sanitisation works are being conducted at affected floors of the building.

Beside the ones mentioned, MalaysiaKini has also confirmed that these places also reported Covid-19 cases (reported 26th October):

  • SMK Wira Penrissen, Kota Samarahan and SK Jalan Haji Baki, Kuching, Sarawak
  • Oasis Square, Petaling Jaya
  • A Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd
  • RHB Inanam, Kota Kinabalu
  • Kedai Makan Hasnizu, Ketengah Jaya, Dungun
  • Kondominium Danau Murni, Taman Danau Desa, Kuala Lumpur
  • Jinjang Remand Centre Kuala Lumpur
