In this weekend’s Covid-19 news, 2 hotspots have confirmed new cases of Covid-19; a recurring shopping mall in Bandar Utama and a public transportation station.
Earlier this evening, Baskin Robbins Malaysia released a statement informing the public that a team member working in 1 Utama Shopping Centre had contracted the deadly virus.
As mentioned in the statement above, the infected staff last reported to work on 22nd October. The person was “immediately discharged from work” as soon as they became aware of their symptoms. The outlet was immediately closed down for disinfection. Colleagues in close contact are now under self-quarantine and have gone for a swab test.
Elsewhere, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd confirmed that a transit officer stationed at the MRT Kajang Line had tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently seeking treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. The infected officer was last seen at work on 21st October.
Prasarana Malaysia has confirmed that an operations employee for the MRT Kajang Line tested positive for Covid-19.

“As for the trains, it is our standard operating procedure (SOP) for all trains to be sanitised and cleaned every night after operation. All other staff who have had close contact with the employee have been urged to undergo self quarantine for 14 days as set under the Health Ministry’s SOPs,” reads the statement from the company.
