Vicki Zhao Wei (趙薇) is currently making headlines because of her love life. Is there trouble in paradise amid the Covid-19 outbreak?
Rumours of marital problems started circulating online after netizens noticed that the Chinese actress had deleted all traces of her husband Huang Youlong (黃有龍) from her Instagram.
The 44-year-old star married her real estate billionaire beau back in 2008 and they have a 10-year-old daughter together. Huang Youlong, who is a Singapore citizen, reportedly purchased a S$28 million (~RM86 million) penthouse unit at Ardmore Park condominium in recent months.
Among the photos deleted, fans noticed that a back-view snapshot of the father-daughter duo holding hands while strolling in Prague as well as last year’s Valentine’s Day gift (a huge bouquet of roses) are now gone. Her current Instagram page is now filled with personal pictures.
Are legal and financial troubles the cause of their 12-year marriage on the rocks? The couple’s net worth was previously estimated to be around $10 billion Hong Kong dollars, following several successful market investments.
Earlier in May, Huang Youlong was facing a financial dispute with Hong Kong socialite Michelle Chia, who sued him for HK$200 million (~RM110.5 million). He counter-sued over her defamatory statement and demanded an apology.
Over the weekend, Vicki’s management posted, “Chasing the wind and clutching at shadows is so tiring. Gossip cautiously. Work hard.” Having said that, the Weibo post did not clarify about the deleted photos.
