Another day, another local business is forced to shut down as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak in our country.
The latest to join the list would be this little book store called Reader’s Paradise located in Ampang Point Shopping Centre.
Bookshop owner Harjeet Sidhu recently revealed that he’s planning to shut down Reader’s Paradise by the middle of next month. As a goodbye gift for bookworms out there, the outlet will be offering a 50% discount off on all books until the first week of July.
“The shop has been struggling to survive especially since the Covid-19 pandemic kicked in. As a result, the only viable solution is to close down the business and sell the books at a discounted price. The remainder of the books that have not been sold would be donated to charities,” Sidhu was quoted as saying.
The 62-year-old further added that he purchased the store six years ago from the previous bookshop owner. He also revealed in the chat that the business initially started as a rental-based platform where readers were able to rent books monthly with price ranging from RM7 to RM10.
So what are you waiting for? Hurry up and visit Reader’s Paradise now before it’s too late!
