Marvel Studios is set to kick off the next phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe and we’re all curious about the updates on the reboots of “Fantastic Four” and “X-Men” franchises.
For the longest time, fans have been campaigning for John Krasinski and Emily Blunt to play Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman. Is it happening though?
During the recent press junket for “A Quiet Place: Part II”, the Hollywood power couple was asked about the possibility of joining the extensive MCU family. In speaking with Krasinski, ComicBook.com pointed out that the actor even looks like Reed Richards now. But has Marvel boss Kevin Feige reached out?
“I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing. I genuinely have had no conversations or don’t know anything that’s happening with that. I’m awaiting Kevin’s announcements of what the hell’s happening with that as much as you are,” the 40-year-old actor said.
While Krasinski is definitely keen on playing Mister Fantastic, Blunt told ComicBook.com that nothing is set in stone until Marvel makes an official decision. “Well I don’t know, you’re gonna have to speak to Feige about it, right? No, fan casting is obviously so flattering and lovely, but I don’t see it as anything other than hypothetical until they cast someone else,” the 37-year-old actress was quoted as saying.
Blunt’s answer is probably not what hard core fans were hoping for, but this isn’t first time the star has been linked to the MCU. She was previously offered the role of Black Widow, which eventually went to Scarlett Johansson. Blunt was also in the running to play Peggy Carter too. Hayley Atwell eventually got the role.
Likwise, Krasinski was about to play Captain America – until Chris Evans came along.
