It’s official y’all – both Super Junior’s Heechul (김희철) and Momo (모모) from TWICE are currently in a relationship!
Yesterday (Wednesday, 1st January), Korean news portal “Market News” claimed that the “Knowing Brothers” star is dating the Japanese K-pop idol. Interestingly, the same media outlet actually came out with a similar news back in August.
According to the exclusive report, the duo has been coping well with their budding romance despite their busy schedules, with both of them being very supportive of each other’s respective careers in the Hallyu scene. They further claimed that their relationship has grown from senior-junior to a more romantic relationship after appearing together in a variety show back in 2017.
Just hours after the news came out, both of the couple’s home agencies (who previously denied their romance) have came out with a statement to confirm the news on 2nd January (Wednesday). Heechul’s home label, Label SJ, wrote, “Hello, this is Label SJ. We have confirmed with Heechul and Momo that they have recently started dating from being a close sunbae (senior) and hoobae (junior). Thank you.”
Additionally, JYP Entertainment, the entertainment agency managing Momo and her group TWICE, released a statement citing the same exact explanation that both of them have been close as a senior and junior colleagues in the industry before pursuing the next step.
For those who are curious, both Heechul and Momo share an age gap of 13 years; the former is 37 while the latter is turning 24 this year.
Not only that, Momo has also became the 2nd member from the MAMA-award-winning girl band to officially confirm her relationship, following leader Jihyo who was confirmed to be dating ex-Wanna One member Kang Daniel in August 2019.
