The ink is back on, as Malaysia’s largest international tattoo expo is back at it again this November in Kuala Lumpur Convention centre.
The event named, Tattoo Malaysia Expo was the brainchild of founder Carlos Benny Majakil, 36, who has well over 20 years worth of and owns Koiyak Gloves, a company that produce a latex glove specifically for tattoo artist.
The event initially started back in 2015 in Majakil home town of Kota Kinabalu. The first event saw only 50 booths and 1000 visitors, but with each passing year, the event grew to what we have now today.
This year, Majakil hopes that the better accessibility of KL, along with the name power of over 50 renown tattoo artist from 35 countries, could increase their target visitor count significantly.
“We’re targeting 30,000 visitors for the expo, much more than we had in KK (around 2,000), but we believe this is achievable as KL is more accessible,” Majakil said.
The event is also supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, as the ministry will hope that the event will be a successful precursor to the Malaysia Biggest Event net year, which will be Visit Malaysia 2020.
As mention before, the event will feature some of the finest tattoo from all over the world, with some of them incorporating their traditional tattoo method along with the modern needle. The artists that will be participating the event will be hailing from:
