One of the world’s biggest and most popular music festivals Coachella has announced a massive lineup for its 2019 edition.
Some of the headliners at Coachella 2019 include Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Janelle Monae, Diplo, Solange, Khalid, ZEDD, and more.
But what got fans more excited about this year edition is the presence of several prominence Asian acts at the festival, creating history along the way.
Without further ado, here are the 4 Asian acts who will be performing at Coachella 2019.

1. Blackpink
K-pop music has been making waves internationally over the years, and 4-member girl band BLACKPINK is without a doubt one of the biggest K-pop names in this century. Featuring members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, BLACKPINK is set to make history as the first K-pop band and Korean girl group to perform at Coachella. The festival will also mark the first time the group has ever performed in the country.
2. Perfume
Trio group from Japan Perfume will also be making history at Coachella as the first J-pop group to ever graced the festival. Consisting of Nocchi, Kashiyuka and A-chan, Perfume is considered to be one of the most successful acts in Asian music. The group is no stranger in America, having previously toured the country in 2014 during their 3rd world tour.
3. Hyukoh
South Korean indie band Hyukoh made up of leader, singer, and guitarist Oh Hyuk, bassist Im Dong-geon, guitarist Lim Hyun-jae, and drummer Lee In-woo, is also set to make their mark at Coachella this year. Their visit to Coachella will mark the band’s third time in America. The band previously toured North America in 2017 and 2018 to promote their album and EP, “23” and “24” respectively.
4. Jambinai
Traditionally-inspired Korean avant-rock band Jambinai will also make their debut at Coachella. The group is known for combining modern rock instrument like drums and electric guitar with traditional Korean folk music instruments such as haegeum, piri, and geomungo. Made up of Kim Bo-mi, Lee Il-woo, and Sim Eun-yong, Jambinai recently performed at the closing ceremony of 2018 Winter Olympics.
Coachella 2019 will take place from 12th to 14th April, then again a week later from 19th to 21st April at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
