(UPDATE) Federal Court Granted Tealive Permission To Stay In Business

All 179 Tealive stores across Malaysia will remain open until further instruction from the court.

The bubble tea brand owner Loob Holding was required to close down all of its outlets after failing to get the Court of Appeal’s support to stay in business last week.

But during the weekend, Tealive shared on their social media that all of their stores will remain open despite injunction.

“Yes. Our court case is in the news. We’ll maintain status quo pending further direction from the courts. Thank you for your kind support and understanding thus far. We look forward to continue serving you,“ Tealive said in its post.

After Loob Holding’s application for a stay to the Court of Appeal was rejected, the company has then filed an appeal to the Federal Court to reverse the ruling granted in favour of La Kaffa.

When the news broke out that Tealive will be closing down all of its stores, many people have been rushing to the nearest Tealive stores to redeem rewards or to exchange special promotions before the stores close down for good.

UPDATE (17th July):

Loob Holding Sdn Bhd was informed by its lawyers today that the Federal Court has granted its application for a stay of the Court of Appeal order dated 27th June 2018. Thus, all Tealive stores will remain in business as usual.

“On behalf of the Tealive team, we would like to thank everyone for their continued trust and support. Our lawyers will continue to handle the ongoing court matter until final resolution,” said Bryan Loo, CEO of Loob Holding.
