After months of being teased about Seungri’s comeback, we finally have the date.
YG Entertainment dropped the long-awaited announcement today (Tuesday, 3rd July), revealing and date and album title via a teaser image.
True to Seungri’s “The Great Gatsby” image, the album is titled “the great Seungri” and will be released on 20th July.
The teaser image is also extremely minimal, with the BIGBANG member posing suavely against a yellow background. The words “the great Seungri” is written in cursive, with the album release date below it.
This will mark Seungri’s first full solo album, as his previous releases were mini-albums. Following his album’s release, the BIGBANG maknae will be holding his first solo concert in Korea on 4th and 5th August.
Seungri made his solo debut in 2008 with “Strong Baby”, a song off BIGBANG’s 2nd studio album “Remember”. It achieved mainstream success, which led to his first solo album “VVIP” in 2011. He made another comeback in 2013 with “Let’s Talk About Love”.
In recent years, he has dabbled in food business, launching a Japanese ramen restaurant franchise called Aori Ramen. The franchise has expanded through Asia and the Malaysian branch opened recently in Pavilion KL.
