Sony’s “Peter Rabbit” is quite the box office hit, which is why a sequel for the CGI-live action comedy has been greenlighted.
Even though the movie was overshadowed by Marvel’s “Black Panther”, it was still a major success for Sony, earning over $320 million worldwide from a $50 million budget.
Following the success, a “Peter Rabbit 2” has been officially announced for an early 2020 release with writer-director Will Gluck returning to direct and write the sequel.
The movie is slated for a release date on 7th February 2020 in the United State, and the original cast including Rose Byrne, James Corden, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Margot Robbie, Sam Neill, and more are expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming movie.
Based on the stories of “Peter Rabbit” created by Beatrix Potter, the movie is an original story following the titular bunny who try to sneak into a farmer’s vegetable garden.
