Sorry “Game of Thrones” fans, but it seems that the popular HBO series will be delayed because of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie’s wedding.
Yep, the wedding is such a monumental event that production for the 8th and final season might “shut down” for awhile during filming. This is to allow the cast and crew involved with the show to attend Harington and Leslie’s big day.
During his recent interview with Jonathan Ross, Harington revealed that he will be tying the knot with his beau in-between filming. “I rang (the producer) up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault, actually.’ I think for the final season he is so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level. I was like, ‘You need to factor in a ‘Game of Thrones’ wedding by the way.’ They (the cast) have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down,” the actor said.
Harington is not wrong though. Technically, it is the producer’s fault for bringing the couple’s onscreen characters, Jon Snow and Ygritte, together. While fans are thrilled by the wedding news, it’s likely that the release date for “Game of Thrones” season 8 will be pushed back to 2019.
In addition, the 30-year-old Brit also revealed a video footage of an epic April Fool’s Day prank he pulled on his fiancee. The clip showed Leslie’s dramatic reaction when she opened their fridge to grab their Brita pitcher, only to discover something that terrified her. “She pretty much told me that if I ever did it again, that would be it, and I think that’s marriage included,” said Harington.
