It’s official: Luhan (鹿晗) and Guan Xiaotong (关晓彤) are a couple.
Yesterday (Sunday, 8th October), the former EXO member took to his Weibo account to announced that he’s dating Xiaotong (also known as Traey Miley). “Hello everyone. Let me introduce my girlfriend to you,” he wrote, while tagging his beau. Not only did Xiaotong reply his post, but it was also re-blogged by his label.
If you’re interested to know, Xiaotong is a popular 20-year-old Chinese actress who has already made her mark in the entertainment industry. She’s previously starred in “Nuan” (暖), “The Promise” (无极), “Painted Skin: The Resurrection” (画皮2), and “The Left Ear” (左耳). You may also remember her from the 2016 romantic television series, “To Be a Better Man” (好先生).
According to sources, the beautiful entertainer is set to star as the leading actress (playing Fang Yu) in Luhan’s upcoming drama, “Sweet Combat” (甜蜜暴击). The series is expected to to broadcast on Hunan TV sometime next year. “Sweet Combat” centres on the 2 leading characters enrolling into Zheng Ze University. Through their passion for sports, the duo eventually fall in love.
When the news of Luhan and Xiaotong’s coupling hit the internet, Sina Weibo (a micro-blog site that is the Chinese equivalent to Twitter) apparently crashed for a moment. The 27-year-old actor-singer’s relationship became the top trending topic on social media. The “Luhan effect” even earned him the Guinness World Record holder for the “Most Comments on a Weibo Post”.
Unfortunately, the happy announcement also resulted in a few unsettling revelations. According to Sin Chew, 3 fans committed suicide after hearing the news. 1 fan had allegedly slit her wrist while another jumped off the building. There’s no solid evidence to confirm their deaths, so it’s best to just take it as a rumour for the time being.
