Remember when news broke that cosmetics mogul Dato’ Seri Vida (real name Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman) will be collaborating with Louis Vuitton (LV), one of the biggest brands in the fashion industry? When she raved about how she’s planning to call the customised designs, “DSV LV”, with the bag items to range from RM8,000 to RM11,000 per piece?
And when she was even quoted as saying, “We have had several discussions on this and further talks are expected with LV’s management in Paris soon.”?
Apparently, it’s not true.
A curious netizen took the liberty to reach out to LV via the brand’s official website regarding the news and asked for a clarification on the collaboration. beautifulnara.com shared a screenshot of an e-mail that was sent by a LV representative, denying any collaborative projects with Dato’ Seri Vida.
The e-mail, which doesn’t specifically identify Dato’ Seri Vida, reads, “Concerning your query, we deny any project of collaboration. Please note that Louis Vuitton offers clients to customise several products with their initials which might be what this client was referring to.”
Note: Dato’ Seri Vida has made no secret that she’s a huge fan of the famed French luxury brand. In fact, she often shares images of her collection of LV arm candies on her Instagram account.
