Movie buffs, rejoice! Paramount Pictures has dropped the first trailer for George Clooney’s new movie, “Suburbicon”.
Penned by Clooney, Joel and Ethan Coen (of “Fargo” fame), as well as Grant Heslov, the crime horror-thriller is set in a suburban community in 1950s. The trailer starts with 2 men breaking Gardner Lodge’s (played by Matt Damon) house and brutally kills his wife. As he plans for revenge, his sister Margaret (played by Julianne Moore) moves in to take care of his son. The darkly hilarious clip ends with Gardner slowly cycling away in a tiny bike.
The official synopsis is as follows:
“Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.”
The film also stars Josh Brolin, Oscar Isaac, child actor Noah Jupe, Glenn Fleshler, and Megan Ferguson.
“Suburbicon” will have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is slated for release on 27th October 2017.
