In March, idol rapper Iron (아이언) aka Jung Heon Chul was arrested for assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend while having sex at his home in Seoul in September 2016.
During his sentencing trial, which was held on Thursday (20th July), Iron has been sentenced to 2 years of probation and 80 hours of community service. Furthermore, he will receive a 8-month prison sentence if he violates the terms of his probation.
The “Show Me The Money 3” finalist choked and beat his ex-girlfriend, who he met at his album jacket photoshoot, when she said she wanted a break up. Not only did he fracture her left pinky finger, but he also left bruises on her body. Moreover, the 25-year-old rapper injured himself in the thigh with a kitchen tool and threatened to accuse her of the injury if she were to call the police.
The victim was injured heavily, and the accused even threatened the victim on not telling the truth,” said the judge of the case.
After his arrest, the rapper defended himself via a press statement, saying that the victim was into sadomasochism aka S&M and requested him to be “violent” with her.
He said, “Her biggest problem was that she was a masochist in sexual sadomasochism. In the beginning, I was really shocked. She always asked me to be violent. She said that’s the only way she can be satisfied. It was never physical assault. It was self-defense against her ruthless violence.”
However, the victim stepped up to address the situation. Her legal representative, Sehyun Law, said, “This has nothing to do with her sexual preferences. She is the victim of a one-sided assault, having been strangled and punched. She never asked to be hit, and she never hit (Iron).”
Iron was previously sentenced to 8 months in prison and a 2-year suspension on charges of marijuana charges between 2014 and 2015. Furthermore, he was caught smoking pot along with former Topp Dogg member Kidoh in July. During an interview with Dingo last year, he also admitted that he had once stabbed a friend when he was a child.
