Queen’s (as fans of T-ara are known), the comeback you’ve all been waiting for won’t be materialising.
On 7th May (Sunday), T-ara’s label, MBK Entertainment, informed fans that Soyeon and Boram won’t be joining the group’s comeback, despite what was said earlier. As such, their album release will also be postponed.
According to the label, they were unable to reach a common agreement with the 2 members. This means that the new album will only see the participation of Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon.
The full statement reads, “While settling the details on the comeback, we were unable to come to a satisfactory agreement with Boram and Soyeon, and their plans to join this album have fallen through. T-ara’s activities as 6 will come to an end when Boram and Soyeon’s contracts expire. T-ara will now promote as 4 members with Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon.”
“We can’t use the recording with Soyeon and Boram anymore. The 4 members have to re-record, so we have to delay our comeback date that had been set for 1st June. The comeback date for the 4 members is not decided yet,” the label continued.
T-ara’s final album was supposed to drop on 17th May, but was pushed back to 1st June to “put the finishing touches to the album”. Previously, MBK Entertainment also assured fans that all 6 members will be joining in the recording.
Although all of the members do not intend to re-sign with their current label, Soyeon and Boram was revealed to have decided to end their contract once it expires on 15th May. The remaining 4 member will be extending their contracts until December 2017.
