Jeff Goldblum is rejoining the “Jurassic Park” franchise!
He will be starring in the “Jurassic World” sequel alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Needless to say, he will be reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, a know-it-all mathematician who came to the park as an insurance consultant.
The actor made his first appearance in the 1993 movie “Jurassic Park”, then made a re-appearance in the 1997 sequel, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”. No word on how influential his character will be in the sequel, but hopefully, it will be more than a cameo.
Aside from the aforementioned cast, the movie also stars Justice Smith, James Cromwell, Daniella Pineda, and Toby Jones. It will be directed by J. A. Bayona with a screenplay by Derek Connolly and “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow.
We already know that certain parts of the filming will take place in Hawaii (aka fictional island Isla Nubar), so fans can expect there to be some classic dinosaur island action. Director J.A. Bayona has revealed that the sequel will be “scarier” than “Jurassic World” and will take on the subject of animal abuse.
Goldblum is also slated to star in this year’s “Thor: Ragnarok” as the Grandmaster. His more recent works include “Independence Day: Resurgence”, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, and the documentary “Unity”.
“Jurassic World 2” will open in cinemas on 22nd June 2018.
