“Running Man” fans, today is one lucky day for you guys 😉
Earlier today, it was announced that the cast of “Running Man” (sans Yoo Jaesuk) will be coming to Malaysia for their upcoming concert tour, “Running Man Live in Malaysia 2017“. And now, we’ve just received news that former “Running Man” host Kang Gary will be visiting the country as well!
The Leessang rapper, known for his smooth and raspy voice, will be holding his first ever solo concert in Malaysia this May. Although this will be his first concert in Malaysia, he’s not a stranger to the country as he was here in 2015 as a special guest for the MATTA fair.
Gary (real name Kang Hee Gun) made his debut in the music industry as early as 1997, but didn’t achieve mainstream fame until 2005 with Leessang’s 3rd album “Library Of Soul”. Since then, the group has released a number of hit songs, including “Tears”, “The Girl Who Can’t Breakup, The Guy Who Can’t Leave”, and “Turned Off The TV”.
In 2014, after gaining popularity as a “Running Man” member, he released his first solo album, “Mr. Gae”. His lyrics for his title track “Shower Track” and its music video were extremely explicit, causing it to be rated 19.

UPDATE (25th April, 11:30am):
Sorry to break this to you, but Gary’s solo concert in Malaysia has been cancelled. According to ACE Music Productions, the concert, which was scheduled for 21st May, had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. No additional explanation was added.
UPDATE (25th April, 9:40pm):
Gary’s rep stepped up with an explanation from their end of the deal, describing why the concert was cancelled. And no, it wasn’t because of Gary’s sudden marriage announcement.
According to Gary’s rep (via akp), Gary’s show in Malaysia was cancelled due to financial-related issues. The rep said, “The situation is different than reported. It’s not an unexpected situation, but rather because the down payment was not fulfilled.” Similarly, another report read, “His concert in Malaysia was canceled because the production company did not send the amount agreed upon in the contract. We confirmed the concert in early-March, but they consistently pushed the payment back, so we had to cancel the show. Gary’s sudden marriage is not related to the concert’s cancellation.”
Refunds will be given to fans who have purchased tickets. Details for refunds can be found here.
