“Game of Thrones” season 7 is still in the midst of production, and now we have some spoilers on one major character.
During her recent appearance at the 2017 British Academy Film Awards, Sophie Turner was asked about her current movie projects and she may have unintentionally given away a spoiler when discussing her current work in “Game of Thrones” and the massive “X-Men” franchise.
“We’re about to start shooting the next ‘X-Men’, we’ve just finished shooting season 7 of ‘(Game of) Thrones’, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before ‘X-Men’ starts. And then we go on to season 8. I’ve got a busy year lined up,” the 20-year-old English actress told Hey U Guys.
Based on the confirmation that Turner will appear in season 8, fans are assuming that her character, Sansa Stark, won’t be killed off in season 7. Of course, there’s the argument that she could return as a ghost or in a flashback scene. That being said, Sansa’s future is not set in stone yet.
At the end of season 6, Sansa Stark had her first taste of power when she killed Ramsay. “There’s the smile… her walking away after killing Ramsay. That’s quite interesting. You wonder if it’s just a smile because it’s her first kill, because this man is out of her life, or whether she’s going to get a taste for it. Whether she enjoyed it. Whether it’s a power trip. But she definitely is a lot more powerful,” Turner previously said.
Turner also told Variety that her character will have the option of becoming a villain or a hero in “Game of Thrones” season 7. “There are so many options. She could run with Littlefinger and become a villain and sadistic. Or she would also team up with her brother Jon,” she teased.
